| Description: | What happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is suddenly interrupted (ischemic stroke) or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, causing blooding in or around the brain (hemorrhagic stroke). These events cause brain cells to die, and the person has problems such as sudden numbness or weakness, confusion, trouble speaking or understanding speech, trouble with walking, coordination, and sudden severe headache.
