<description><![CDATA[The SciLife Program sounds very similar to Science and Citizens Organized for Purpose and Exploration (SCOPE) which is a Not For Profit based in St. Louis. SCOPE provides free information to students about science educational opportunities in Missouri. SCOPE travels around to city fairs, the Missouri state fair, Boys and Girls clubs, and science centers. This past summer, I would help run the SCOPE booth with cool science experiments. While the kids were occupied with the science experiments another SCOPE volunteer would engage the parents about how they can get their kids more involved in science opportunities such as 4-H. Both SCOPE and SciLife are working to educate students about science educational opportunities.]]></description>

The Rare Genomics Institute is a non-profit organization that focuses on helping patients and families with rare/orphan diseases that might benefit from genome sequencing. Rare Genomics Institute helps patients with gaining access to genome sequencing services, support, and funding. Washington University School of Medicine's Genomics and Pathology Services and the Rare Genomics Institute are planning to award grants for the sequencing of 99 exomes to rare disease advocacy groups. <description><![CDATA[This semester I’m interning in Washington, DC and taking two classes through Indiana University. I'm studying Health Administration and am very interested in how to best educate young people about health. Just last Monday I did a 20 minute presentation with three others students on Health Care Fraud, with a focus on Medicare Fraud. We researched the history, the law, and the “team” that combats fraud: HHS, DOJ, and FBI. We were asked to propose policy changes, but instead we created a program called HCFEP the Health Care Fraud Education Program that could be implemented in high schools (targeting seniors) to educate them on health care fraud before they’re out on their own. I’m a junior in college, and I didn’t know much about Medicare fraud until my second year of college. According to the NHCAA, $68 billion per year is lost to health care fraud each year. It is reassuring to see programs that educate young people about college, health care careers, etc. Any thoughts on implementing a program about Health Care Fraud for high school seniors? Would it work/be useful? Why/why not?]]></description>

Sarah's psychiatrist helped her to change the way she thinks and reacts to stress, which is the key to "feeling better".
