Analyzing Brain images How Is PET Done? What Does this Part of the Brain Do? Looking at the Human Brain

Description of Analyzing Brain Images, Page 2

This page shows how PET images represent an optical slice of the brain. The top of the image shows the part of the brain that is toward to the person’s face and the bottom of the image is the part of the brain nearest the back of the head. In each set of PET images in this activity, Image A is a image taken near the top of the brain. Image B is from deeper in the brain, Image C is farther down, and Image D is the lowest section in the brain.
