Figure 8 - Long Description

Figure 8 is a bar-chart diagram representing five-year survival rates for selected cancer sites, all races.

The scale is relative survival rate 0-100 percent.

From 1974 to 1976, breast cancer (females) is about 75%, colon and rectum about 50%, leukemias about 33%, lung & bronchus 11%, melanoma of skin 77%, prostate 68%, all sites 50%.

From 1983 to 1990, breast cancer (women) is about 83%, colon and rectum about 64%, leukemias about 37%, lung & bronchus 12%, melanoma of skin 83%, prostate 76%, all sites 53%.
